Last year in October I took these two photos. Mushrooms. Fascinating things. I don’t know anything about them but I think they are beautiful. The weather here in Ocean Shores is perfect for them. The damp shade seems to encourage them and they pop up in clusters, among the needles under the pine trees..
I looked forward to my walk yesterday afternoon with anticipation. But something was different, the adorable little mushrooms from years gone by were not there. The conditions seemed to be about the same, we had warmer weather than usual this fall but it rained all the same. I did see mushrooms, rather ordinary looking ones, but wait, they were interesting too, in a different way. I’ll wait a week or two and go out to check again, maybe I was too early. Meanwhile, have a look at the mushrooms, 2014, Ocean Shores style. Humm, I wonder if I could design a mushroom quilt……
